Maverick Hovercar

Designed in early YE 40 by Havok Motors and Jackson Winston-Allibaster Howard himself, the Maverick is an old-school throwback to the good ol' days when having the fastest car meant stuffing the biggest engine you could find under the hood of the lightest chassis you could build. Staying true to its classic muscle car roots, the Maverick is designed with a classic fastback profile that's reminiscent of leather jackets, cool sunglasses, and long, empty stretches of desert highway.

“…I really do love the Advent, but five hundred-fifty?! Really?! That was the fastest they could make it go…?!”

-Jackson Howard, CEO and founder of Havok Customs

About the Maverick

The Maverick is a two-seater muscle car that uses any room for a second row for more engine power. It comes with a hard-shell, non-removable top as standard.

With its built-in anti-grav system, the Maverick stands in stationary hover at 1 ft. above the ground when not in use. The system allows for movement in all directions, from straight up and down, side to side, and just about anything else one could think of. The fun comes from the two over-sized ion thrusters in the back, allowing speeds close to the speed of sound at sea-level. Thrust-vectoring helps with tight turns at such speeds.

Key Features

History

In early YE 40, engineer and entrepreneur Jackson Howard purchased an Advent Hovercar out of his love for speed and a need for a personal vehicle with more versatility than an airbike. For a while, he was in love with the Advent, particularly its high speeds and maneuverability. However, after a while, he grew bored with its (in his opinion) low max speed and its rather chunky appearance. Thus, he set to work designing a car that focused purely on speed and a sleek profile while sacrificing functionality. Jax- as his friends call him- was inspired by the classic action movies of his youth, and dreamed of bringing back the long, lean, and mean muscle cars from the old days. Thus, after one long, margarita-filled weekend, the Maverick was born as Havok Motors' first ever production hovercar.

Appearance

The Maverick hearkens back to the old days of over-powered chunks of steel on wheels roaring down the streets, but with a modern twist that makes it competitive with the hovercars of today. Its fastback body style is decidedly retro while keeping the vehicle aerodynamic and giving it an aggressive profile that sets it apart from the modern-style vehicles that fill the skies.

Interior

The interior of the Maverick comes in furnished leather with three color options (black, brown, and white). It's a very basic vehicle, sacrificing extra seating for more engine. The driver and passenger sit on a bench-style seat, with a very small storage space behind the front row. Two cupholders slide out of the dash in between the driver and passengers' seats, and can be stowed away when not in use. The roof does not retract, leaving the operator of the vehicle warm and safely encased at high speeds.
