Zen Armaments .45 Caliber Pistol

An incredibly solid, ubiquitous pistol. Using an 11.5 mm round gives it very good killing power, and the standard cartridges would be considered +P by today's standards, with hot loads still firing relatively comfortably out of the gun. This is a match-grade pistol right out of the box; arguably better than Yamatai's GSP and made with solid materials, the gun's a great find at any gunshop. The compact version is rarer to find, as it does not shoot nearly as comfortably. An even rarer automatic version is in the hands of a very select few. Alternate grips are available.

Short Recoil Action

Short recoil operation differs from long recoil operation in that the barrel and bolt recoil only a short distance before they unlock and separate. The barrel stops quickly, and the bolt continues rearwards, compressing the recoil spring and performing the other actions of cycling. During the last portion of its forward travel, the bolt locks into the barrel and pushes the barrel back into battery. Pistols almost universally work this way.

Safety: Mechanism on the back of the handle makes the weapon unable to fire unless pushed all the way in.
