Designed in YE 31, Baby torpedoes are heavier weapons for smaller craft.
Tiny torpedoes made to be the perfect fit for anti-starfighter work, Baby torpedoes are long-range light duty torpedoes specialized for anti-starfighter work, but also capable being used effectively against Starship weapons platforms. Origin Defense Manufacturing designed these torpedoes to give lighter starfighters a heavier-hitting capability than they would normally possess, allowing them to compete with larger, more robust fighters. Baby torpedoes use a modified, miniaturized, mass-production CDD to travel faster than the speed of light.
The baby Torpedo is a two meter long, .55 meter diameter tube with a tapered front end, and a rounded back end. On top there is a small bracket system to allow them to be attached to medium-duty hardpoints, which detaches from the torpedo upon firing.
