The EM-G18-2a Station Hull Patch Kit is produced by Emrys Industries, and became available in YE 34.
EM-G18-2a kits are intended for use on stations, but can be used on large starships. They are typically in damage control lockers close to the exterior. They are intended for covering larger openings in the hull. Smaller punctures should be treated with a EM-G18-1a Ship Hull Patch Kit.
All patches are composed of 10mm thick sheets of Osmiridium. The patches are convex, have one or two hand grips to help with placement. Some of them have a rubber gasket to help improve the quality of the seal.

If the area that has been damaged still has atmosphere, a suitable sized patch, is placed over the rupture. They are held in place by the atmospheric pressure until such time as they are either wielded into place. Or the section of the hull is repaired.
If the area that has been damaged has been completely decompressed the patch must be treated with Molecure Tape then placed against the hull.
