Xanatos was born to his mother outside of marriage on the oceanic world of Anisa. For reasons of her own, she kept the identity of his biological father a secret from him. Once he turned 19, he joined the Star Army of Yamatai. Although he loves his mother, he decided that he needed to get away from her and her secrets. Another reason for his departure was that his girlfriend left him for his next-door neighbor. It was hard to see her go to the house right next to his… Xanatos slowly, but surely rose through the enlisted ranks until he reached Ittô Heisho. His last postings were all either on a planet or a small spacestation. He hopes to finally lend his abilities to a ship soon, however.
The YSS Yugumo was his first post aboard a starship. Xanatos didn't make very many friends and seemed to be more of a ghost then anything else. He was killed along with the entire crew when the Yugumo was obliterated. He was then revived aboard the YSS Asuka.
He transferred from the Asuka to the 17th Wing Squadron to get a fresh start. However, he would ultimately be killed in the defense of the UOC, securing the escape of several transports containing thousands of Jiyuuian refugees.
Maintenance and Repair: He has been taught the manditory knowledge of fixing technical problems. For example, if the ship or station's security systems fail for some reason, he can easily fix it with the right equipment and assistance.
Technical Operation: He knows how to work terminals and small computers and the basics of AI systems. He can easily access the OS systems used by most SAoY ships to enter/search for information.
Mathematics: He has taken several classes on algebra, geometry, and trigonometry during highschool. He has had a little experience with calculus, too, but he wasn't very good at it.
Communication: He can easily work his communicator, but he sometimes forgets to use radio jargon and speaks in his normal informal way. This sometimes got him into a lot of trouble during his training days.
Knowledge: Although it isn't the same as photographic memory, he still doesn't forget things very easily. Unfortunately, there are quite a few memories that he wishes to forget…
Arts and Vocations: He loves to right poems. The few who have actually read these poems say that he does good work. However, he is not sure if they are not just flattering him…
Fighting: He received training in hand-to-hand combat, sidearms, a bit in power armors, and even in grenades and energy rifles. He prefers a terminal over a weapon, but it can't be helped sometimes.
Piloting (Spaceships): He received a crash-course on the piloting controls for the YSS Yugumo. Though he is still a novice in this field, he can hold his own.
