Build and Skin Colour: Satoko is practically the picture of an utterly average neko. Her skin, however, is a shade darker than most, a thorough tan.
Facial Features and Eye Colour: With deep aqua eyes and classical features, Satoko's stern face is that of one used to authority, and having her instructions followed.
Hair Colour and Style: Satoko's black hair has grown out since her retirement, and she has taken to putting it up in elaborate, traditional styles.
Distinguishing Features: Her demeanour is full of the confidence and authority of a career officer.
Personality: Maeda Satoko is a fairly stern woman. She is deeply prideful, accustomed to command, and absolutely intolerant of inefficiency. As well, she is strongly progressive and always willing to give new technology or tactical theories a whirl. And, though she has left the military, the military has not left her - she maintains rigourous discipline in her own life and expects the same of her aides and co-workers.
Likes: New things, efficiency, science, progress, the Nekovalkyrja species Dislikes: Luddism, tradition for its own sake, laziness Goals: Serve her constituents as well as she can; undo some of the damage done to the Neko species
One of the many nekos created to serve Hoshi no Iori's standing defence force, Satoko distinguished herself over her sisters fairly quickly. Her knack for efficient logistical planning and implementation made her a warrant officer in short order, and the next several years saw her steady rise through the ranks. She got a fairly big break at the Battle of Hoshi no Iori, though, when her own commander was killed and the chain of command fell to her. Having seen a small group through the battle with fine results, a place for her in command was assured. Her tenure as a vice-admiral, however, was fairly short. While she would have been happy to continue past her mandatory service, she firmly believes that the Nekovalkyrja Reintegration Plan almost crippled the Star Army against the Mishhuvurthyar, and the mass implementation of the NH-29 will finish it off. As such, she ran for Senator on a pro-Neko and pro-military platform, and having won, has retired from the Star Army to serve the government more directly.
Satoko is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from others through headsets, starships, power armor, shuttles, and telepathy in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is fluent in Nepleslian and formal Yamataian. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, and issue orders under fire - the latter being something she has grown very good at. She has a very snappy, dominating voice.
Satoko received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. She is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons she is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor. As well, she is a fairly proficient boxer.
Satoko is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.
Satoko received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry. She is also fairly proficient with accounting and budgeting.
Satoko is versed in military tactics and logistical systems, history, and Yamataian law. She has recently been putting quite a bit of effort into reading about diplomacy and politics.
Satoko is very used to being in charge. She is a consummate leader, able to effectively give orders and delegate responsibilities to those most suited.
Her most recently-acquired and least-practiced skill, Satoko began studying the nuances of international and inter-regional diplomacy, non-military etiquette, and sociology when she decided to run for the senatorial seat.
