In 2013 Star Army saw numerous improvements including a new forum software and a program to increase diversity in its official site artwork, purchasing $1,113.99 in commissioned art. In March 2013, Star Army won the Ongoing Worlds' Award for Best Roleplaying Club and its YSS Eucharis plot won Best Original Sci-Fi Sim in the 2013 Tournament of Sims. It had 16 plots at the time.
