- | The weapon itself is much shorter, and much lighter, than the HPAR. It uses advanced composite materials instead of heavy metals to reduce weight in the casing. Removing much of the aiming assembly that focuses the molten projectile also removes much of the heavy magnets, lightening the weapon to the point where it can be carried be an unarmored soldier. Despite being far lighter, The excessive weight of the CSCA 30x3 magazine can make the weapon difficult to hold for long. A single coolant cartridge can be inserted into the base of the stock of the weapon to keep the weapon from overheating from repeated use. Each cartridge is rated for 400 rounds (or one full magazine of CSCA 30x3). The weapon sprays the coolant along the exterior of the barrel, letting the coolant boil off through the side vents. This creates a steam like effect out the sides when under heavy use. | ||
