-====== Type 35 Main Battle Tank "Jinsoku Oni" ======
-An evolution resulting from the field trial runs of the provisional Type 34 MBT "Oni", the Type 35 Main Battle Tank "Jinsoku Oni" was introduced into service in the stararmy:star_army_of_yamatai in the middle of calendar:ye_35.
-
-It is officially known as the "Type 35 Main Battle Tank" or "Jinsoku Oni" (迅速鬼 - Swift Ogre).
-
-As of calendar:ye_40, this vehicle is no longer utilized by the stararmy:star_army_of_yamatai.
-==== About and History ====
-
-The Type 35 Jinsoku was designed to serve as the Star Army's Main Battle Tank, replacing previous older models of tank where applicable. On the battlefield, the Type 35 MBT is intended to provide heavy support to Power Armor through direct or indirect fire, move rapidly across the battlefield to react to enemy breakthroughs and even draw the worst of enemy fire from friendly troops for short durations to allow them freedom of movement. Overall, the vehicle is meant to support the powered armor spearheads favored by the Star Army of Yamatai.
-
-With completion of the field trial runs of its provisional predecessor, the tracked Type 34 in the Star Army's stararmy:fleets:fifth_standard_fleet, approval was given for the drafting of a new main battle tank for general use. With the bulk of design work already done, Ketsurui Zaibatsu worked in tandem with the original creators of the "Oni", Origin Industries, to have the new vehicle meet the unique needs of the Star Army. In the end, the Type 34 served as the basis for the next generation of tank.
-
-The key defining trait requested was to have the new model be a hover tank, rather than a traditional tracked design. As a result, a new hull and turret was designed from the ground up for this, using the experience learned from the Oni to make a lighter yet equally sturdy build. In addition to this, a new, faster autoloader was included while omitting the turret side sponson grenade launchers, as they proved to be a structural vulnerability in the armor.
-
-By Mid calendar:ye_35, the Type 35 Main Battle Tank "Jinsoku Oni" was completed, with Ketsurui Zaibatsu producing the vehicles for the Star Army of Yamatai with portions of the vehicle design and weapons licensed from Origin Industries.
-
-==== Appearance ====
-The Jinsoku Oni is a tank that alternates between smooth, elegant curves and hard, practical lines.
-
-Its frontal glacis is smoothly curving and rounded while the sides and rear of the tank are more angular in shape. Underneath it, the hover units are just barely protruding. Overall, the shape of the hull is 'boxy' as seen from above however. Its turret rapidly alternates between sloped sections of armor and flat, angled surfaces for a low profile, narrowing towards the front and widest at the rear. Integrated into this is the main cannon and a coaxial autocannon, both easily visible. Up top however, is the secondary remote controlled turret, another visible and useful feature.
-
-Accessory items such as countermeasure launchers are strategically placed on the turret, while thick, heavy rings used for hauling are firmly welded into the hull on the sides, placed at key points.

-===== Interior Description =====
-
-Overall, the interior of the tank is surprisingly refined and smooth, with no protruding edges that the crew can hurt themselves upon should the tank be hit - so long as they are in their assigned seats. All other areas outside of the crew stations inside it are utterly utilitarian, with visible welds and hard, sharp edges. The tank is perfectly fitted for the typical, traditional Yamataian stature, and in particular, that of typical Nekovalkyrja. It is cozy for them, but cramped for those of larger stature.
-
-==== Turret ====
-
-The turret of the tank is of a conventional crew layout, with both the Commander and Gunner residing inside the turret basket.
-
-With the main gun's breech and autoloader assembly going through the middle of the turret present, combined with the sizable ammunition racks, the work area is cramped for Nepleslians, and a perfectly fitted one for individuals of small stature such as the typical Nekovalkyrja. The commander station provides access to the tank's communication and computer system though a volumetric interface, as well as monitoring equipment used to scan the outside environment. In addition to these features, the commander station provides control to the top mounted secondary turret that houses the lesser weapons of the tank.
-
-The gunner's station houses access to the controls of the main gun of the Jinsoku Oni as well as volumetric controls to the autoloader. Inside the turret, the commander is typically located below the right cupola, with the gunner below the left cupola. The two are separated by the main gun's breech, and are further separated when the massive autoloader arm leaps forward to load a new round of ammunition - though dangerous, the system includes a safety sensor system that prevents the autoloader from working when there is an obstruction such as a stray limb, loose MRE or whole and intact crew member.
-
-Half of the tank's ammunition is stowed inside the automated magazine in the rear of the turret with a total of 40 rounds 'ready'. The ready magazine itself has special blowout panels that prevent the tank from cooking off should the hull be penetrated and the ammunition is set on fire. On detonation of the ammo rack however, the bustle rack at the back of the turret is often destroyed with all its contents. Small, neat, sturdy and tidy analog control systems are also present within the tank should volumetric systems give out - though the visual feed within the tank provides a full 360 degree view, should they go down, a pair of goggles would need to be worn in several cases to make up for the loss, despite the availability of enhanced cupola slights.
-
-==== Hull ====
-
-As with most tanks, the driver's compartment rests in the lower forward section of the hull and consists of a reclined crash seat with volumetric controls to the tank's systems as well as the steering wheel and pedals. Though more cramped than the other sections of the vehicle, the driver's is also the most comfortable, as the driver's station is built to cradle and protect the driver from impacts to the vehicle's frontal glacis plate. Additional ammunition and supplies are often stored in the main hull directly below the turret, with the reactor and drive systems located to the rear of the tank's hull.
-
-The ammunition racks carrying the other rounds are based in the floor, and hold 50 rounds - they are opened to manually refill the ready magazine of the autoloader should it be empty. These hull floor based ammunition racks are also equipped with blowout panels, which direct the force of any ammunition cook-off downwards and to the sides.
-
-===== Weapon Systems =====
-
-An assortment of powerful and capable weapon systems are installed into the tank. These include a large bore main gun, numerous autocannons and offensive mini-missiles for self defense. This is further augmented by the addition of defensive, countermeasure mini-missile pods strategically placed throughout the hull, which may be further augmented by optional utility launchers.
-
-==== Primary Weapon System(s) ====
-
-The weapons mounted on the Type 35 are not only well suited for destroying the largest of adversaries, but also defending itself should small, fast movers attempt to close in.
-
-=== 125mm Gauss Cannon ===
-
-Serving as the main gun on the Type 35, the 125mm Gauss Cannon provides both powerful direct fire and high explosive indirect fire as artillery. Its precision and projectile velocity allow it to be well capable of  picking off individual powered infantry units with its rounds or raining shells down from above, with both easily done from kilometers away.
-
-40 rounds may be held in the auto-loader's ready magazine, with capacity for an additional 32 rounds to be optionally stowed in the sides of the hull, 16 at each side.

-
-==== Secondary Weapon System(s) ====
-
-=== 25mm Automatic Gauss Cannon (3) ===
-
-Provided for both point defense and demolition, the three 25mm autocannons serve to hammer approaching power armors or riddle walls with large craters. One autocannon is mounted as the coaxial armament of the tank and is aimed at the same point as the main gun. The other two are mounted together on the secondary turret, their fire alternating between one another to produce the same effect as a single cannon overclocked to 12 rounds a second.

-
-=== PMML Platform (2) ===
-
-A heavily modified version of the Origin Industries weapon, the Portable Mini-Missile Launcher Platform has been made to have ammunition commonality with SAoY OAP launchers used with the Mindy and Daisy. This ensures ammunition commonality, and logistical simplicity. In addition to these changes, the case is lined with materials:yarvex to help contain the explosion in the case of ammunition cook-off - the explosion will be vented out from the front and back should the missiles prematurely detonate.

-**Ammunition:** 80 Mini-Missiles (Each)\\
-
-=== Countermeasure Augmentation Pods (4) ===
-
-Like with its predecessor, the CAPs are heavily modified pre-existing mini-missile launchers in the Star Army of Yamatai's inventory, remade to be more boxlike and with a larger ammunition capacity than its normal version. The usage of the same munitions remains, ensuring simplified logistics, and the launchers themselves retain a 60% parts commonality with standard calf mounted models, mainly electronics.

-
-==== Optional Weapons ====
-
-=== Multi-Flare Launcher ===
-
-Optionally mounted on the rear top of the turret and facing up into the air, the modified CAP fires flares with a variety of spectrum types and colors to choose from. These serve to provide either visible light or infrared illumination on the battlefield. In addition, they may also be used to send signals as well, provided the rounds are appropriately loaded. The launcher is typically positioned on the left side of the turret roof.
-
-Countermeasure Augmentation Pods\\

-**Damage:** None\\
-**Range:** 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere\\
-**Rate of Fire:** Individual\\
-**Ammunition:** 25 Mini-Missiles\\
-
-=== Multi-Spectrum Smoke-Chaff Launchers ===
-
-Another optional piece of equipment, the MSSC Launchers serve to instantly generate smoke and chaff to break weapons locks. The missiles, typically located at the rear right of the turret roof, fire up into the air roughly two meters before detonating, instantly obscuring the tank in Smoke and Chaff. The smoke visually conceals the tank as the cloud rapidly billows out, and also prevents most sensors from getting a lock or detecting the tank itself.

-===== System Descriptions =====
-
-The following are the systems used in the Type 35 Main battle Tank, which range from armor, to shields, power generation, propulsion and more.
-
-==== Hull and Armor ====
-
-The hull of the Jinsoku Oni consists of interlocking pieces of ADNR encased in materials:durandium to provide ample structural integrity - the more malleable material provides some degree of give, preventing shattering. Meanwhile, the harder material makes up for the softer material's lack of hardness and in turn preventes deformation.
-
-Though the armor is technically 'composite' due to the use of more than one material, the majority of the armor plates' composition is materials:yama_dura, a hard, tough, heat resistant metal capable of some degree of self-repair. This is backed by layers of insulation to prevent energy weapons and radiation harming the interior. Due to its properties, the tank's Yama-Dura armor is also coated with a 5mm thick layer of materials:durandium to simply maintain its aesthetics and prevent deformation.
-
-A powered winch with durandium tow cable and hook are attached to the rear of the armored hull for various uses.
-
-==== Shields and Defensive Systems ====
-
-Refined and streamlined for mass production, the defensive systems are the same as those found on the preceding Type 34. As a result, the Graviton-Magnetic defensive field systems are semi-conformal as with the previous model, partially taking on the rough form of the tank itself with roughly 10in/25cm between the inner edge of the field and the hull of the vehicle on average.
-
-=== NBC Protection Systems ===
-
-The nuclear, biological and chemical protection systems allow the vehicle to completely seal up and either filter air from the outside, or recycle internal atmosphere for up to 3 days. In the case of contaminated air getting inside the cabin, the NBC systems also have an emergency 'flush' mode where it goes into overdrive, rapidly blowing out contaminated air and replacing it with uncontaminated atmosphere to decontaminate the interior. In addition, the system can seal itself against the vacuum of space, and re-pressurize the cabin up to 4 times off its own air supply.
-
-=== Variable Voltage Defense System ===
-
-An electrical current may be safely run through the outer hull of the vehicle, as the interior is fully insulated - this helps to prevent boarders and other hostiles from leaping aboard the tank. Depending on the setting, personnel may be incapacitated or outright carbonized. For safety reasons, the system must be manually activated by the crew members inside.
-
-=== CPS Control Device ===
-
-A Conformal Psionic Signal Control Device had been added and serves to protect the crew and a conformal area around the vehicle from being affected by psionic anomalies or attacks. The device prevents direct mental assault on the crew members inside, as well as subversion, intrusion and direct control. In addition, psyionic based attacks are often disrupted or dissipated altogether upon entering the conformal field emitted by the system.
-
-==== Propulsion ====
-
-Unlike its tracked predecessor, the Type 35 MBT uses a simple yet effective graviton based hover system.
-
-The system functions by interfacing with a planet's, or any object with mass, gravitational field and pushing against it. This produces lift for the vehicle, keeping it floating off of the ground at all times, and in order to move, simply 'shifts' itself in reference to the center of gravity produced by the mass below it. As a result, the vehicle itself has unique handling characteristics and is capable of strafing from side to side in addition to adjusting its height. When deactivated, the vehicle will still float in a stationary position, having 'locked' itself to the graviton well.
-
-With the hover system, the hover tank is capable of accelerating from stationary to 40 MPH/64 KPH in 2 seconds, but at the same time, the vehicle itself is prone to 'sliding'. Despite this shortcoming resulting from the nature of the hover system, the vehicle will still coast to a stop depending on how fast it was going previously. In addition, a small portion of the hover system is visible under the vehicle, and though armored, can be damaged or destroyed, reducing the efficiency of the hover system.
-
-==== Power ====
-
-As with the tank that it had evolved from, the Jinsoku Oni uses several fusion reactors, but unlike the Type 34, uses a total of two instead of three to power its hover propulsion systems. In addition, these come from pre-existing military hardware platforms. Both of these supply all the electrical power the vehicle needs in order to function. For convenience of those inside the vehicle, there are several electrical outlets available for use located throughout the interior.
-
-For the Star Army of Yamatai, the Type 35 was made to also be capable of utilizing the very same micro-fusion reactors found within the M9 TASHA. As a result, the typical arrangement inside each tank is two reactors from the M9 TASHA. Both of these are easily removed as a single 'power pack' and are completely interchangeable with the reactor from the Heavy Fusion Thruster Pack for emergencies, promoting parts commonality. However, the Daisy I's reactors are anemic in power output should both reactor slots be replaced with them - such a configuration using only two Daisy reactors would most often result in a severe reduction in top speed, acceleration, and shield regeneration.
-
-To compensate, a total of four of the Daisy's reactors can be fitted inside and used instead, but with reduced reliability.
-
-==== Electronics ====
-
-Outfitted with the stararmy:equipment:aies, the Jinsoku Oni utilizes several parts from the M9 Tasha for its numerous electronics systems, resulting in high parts commonality between the two in regards to these systems. As with the original Type 34 it was based off of, the operating system, in this case the AIES, is altered to better suit the needs of a ground vehicle.
-
-=== Sensors ===
-
-The AIES reliably detects electromagnetic activity, scalar emissions and tachyon particles in addition to the traditional visual sensors present. A sensor sub-suite is also dedicated to detecting aether usage and aether based systems.
-
-The primary sensors the Jinsoku Oni are relatively visible, and though they may 'button up' with sliding armor plates, a slit will still be vulnerable. In the event that the primary sensors go down, the full 360 degree volumetric video feed to the crew will be cut, and a more limited system will activate in its place. For the commander, the combined secondary and tertiary systems consists of a ring of eight volumetric panels affixed in a floating ring over the commander's head, which acts like traditional glass periscopes in a cupola. This ring of periscope panels may be grasped and pulled down to head level, and will return to position upon being given a nudge upwards.
-
-The very same goes for the driver and gunner. For the gunner, the main difference is a small volumetric gunnery panel. However, should even that fail, an eyepiece and facerest are available for use to aim and fire the gun. Meanwhile, the driver's three view panels behind the head are located forward and above, acting as rear view mirrors - in typical operation of the backup systems, the driver leaves these 'volumetric periscopes' lowered. Should these fail, the usage of wired goggles would be necessary.
-
-=== Targeting and Fire Control ===
-
-The Targeting and Fire Control of the Type 35 is the same as its predecessor's, and can track up to 24 targets with detailed information such as heading, velocity, type and energy signatures. An additional 50 targets or objects of interest can be tracked with IFF alongside position and orientation. The AIES also provides excellent fire control for the weapons mounted, allowing them to be used to their fullest by compensating for atmospheric density, gravitational pull of the planet, rotation of the planet, the air's humidity, wind heading and so on.
-
-=== Communications ===
-
-The typical AIES on the Jinsoku Oni have systems for hyperspace, laser and radio, but being mounted on a wheeled vehicles and tanks not meant to be hurtling through space, designers saw fit to remove hyperspace communication capacities. Both laser and radio communications systems remain on board, though cut down to specifications better suiting its role on a planet's surface. Thanks to the TASHA's components however, the Type 35s now all boast loudspeakers which complement their preexisting audio sensor systems.

-====== Out of Character Information ======
-
-The following is an Out of Character section of the article, dedicated to providing useful information to the various users of the Star Army Roleplay site.
-
-===== Usage Guide =====
-
-The Type 35 Main Battle Tank "Jinsoku Oni" is meant to play a very supportive role to Star Army of Yamatai power armors, as they are the bread and butter of combat on the site.
-
-In general, the vehicle is meant to rapidly move and keep up with the typically fast moving power armored troops as they move from area to area, lending its cannon to any particularly challenging hostiles or hard points encountered which the power armors cannot dispatch on their own in a very timely manner. In addition, the vehicle is to do its namesake and "Tank" heavy incoming fire on an as needed basis to draw fire away from the power armors so they may maneuver.
-
-Though it is capable of providing indirect fire by varying the electrical current going through the cannon and serve as artillery, its specialty is direct fire.
-
-==== Wide Open Areas of Operation ====
-
-In areas such as vast grasslands and frozen artic tundra with long lines of sight, the Jinsoku Oni serves as not only a more powerful set of eyes and ears for the Power Armors it supports, but also as a "Designated Marksman" of sorts.
-
-Though weapons typically used by power armors often have the range necessary to hit targets kilometers away, the power armors themselves may not always have sufficiently powerful sensors to target the opposing force, or have pilots with sufficiently steady aim to fully utilize said weapons should they be hand held. As a result, the role of power armors in combat is typically within closer ranges. To make up for this, the main battle tank much more easily engages targets at longer ranges, as its primary cannon doesn't just have sufficient range, but is fired from a significantly more stable platform.
-
-==== Enclosed Areas of Operation ====
-
-Areas such as jungles and built up urban centers highlight the shortcomings of armored vehicles such as main battle tanks; they are easily set upon by enemy power armors within the tight confines despite the maneuverability given by their hover systems.
-
-Due to this, Yamataian power armors need to escort tanks and prevent enemies from outflanking or outright boarding them where they cannot defend themselves. Though this would normally be a burden, the main battle tank is still a very valuable asset. So long as hostile forces are prevented from landing directly onto its hull and exploiting tank's inability to fight at such range, its firepower is priceless in blasting a path out of ambushes. Due to powerful shields and thick armor, it is more likely to survive the opening salvo than power armors.
-
-In addition, its main gun is valued for the ability to rapidly demolish buildings and other points at which enemy forces have entrenched themselves which Power Armored troops cannot either storm, or destroy on their own.
-
-==== Which for What ====
-
-The Jinsoku Ro has a variety of weapons to choose from, and amongst those, a variety of ammunition types as well.
-
-=== 25mm Autocannons ===
-
-There are three 25mm autocannons on the tank, with one mounted coaxial to the main gun, and the other two on the remote controlled secondary turret in a dual-mount. These guns are best used for firing on infantry, power armor or light to medium vehicles. In addition, aircraft may also be engaged by the autocannons should the opportunity arise. Besides this, they may also be used to rapidly put basketball sized holes in the sides of buildings - the high explosive incendiary charge of the shell explodes and burns as it is left behind by the armor piercing core which continues to hurtle forward.
-
-This means the round can easily shoot objects or hostiles behind cover besides knocking down said cover, but also over-penetrate and cause collateral damage. Alternatively, the usage of flechette rounds may allow for better hit probability against fast moving targets such as very mobile power armors or flying vehicles, while the explosive plasma may be used as an improved version of the standard shell with extra firepower should they be available for use.
-
-=== Offensive Mini-Missile Launchers ===
-
-Two large mini-missile launchers are mounted side by side, stacked full of ammunition. As the projectiles are fast moving and capable of seeking locked targets, they are best used against fast moving targets such as highly mobile power armors or even fighters and bombers as they proceed to make strafing runs. Due to their more sophisticated nature, they can also be programmed to attempt going around corners to hit targets, or even be fired into areas where enemies are suspected to be hiding and self-seek targets.
-
-Additionally, these too can be used to demolish buildings, bunkers and so forth, but is ill advised as other weapons are more suited to the task.
-
-=== 125mm Gauss Cannon ===
-
-The centerpiece of the Type 35 Main Battle Tank, the large bore cannon fires a variety of projectiles, ensuring its flexibility on the battlefield.
-
-Armor Piercing Incendiary Discarding Sabot rounds are superb at long range precision shooting with the main gun, and in urban settings can be used to shoot straight through multiple buildings to hit located but unsuspecting foes. The round excels at penetrating shields and armor through the sheer brute force of its kinetic energy - and it is the cheapest of all the ammunition types, ensuring that plenty can be easily kept on hand.
-
-HEAT-FG, or High Explosive Anti Tank Fragmentation, is a much more general purpose round. Besides sending forward a lance of superheated, hyper-velocity liquid metal into the target it impacts, the round does so with an explosion which has the benefit of being explosive. To capitalize on this, a fragmentation sleeve also sends out numerous fragments which can pierce even power armor plating at close range. In general, this round is best used both for destroying individual targets, as well as creating some area of effect damage - as a result of its properties, it is the preferred round to be used despite its higher expense, and though most of its explosive energy is channeled into a liquid metal jet, the shell is still very effective in blowing large, gaping holes into the sides of buildings or bunkers. To further it's usefullness, the round may be set to airburst, allowing it to damage fast, difficult to hit enemies with some reliability.
-
-High Explosive Plasma rounds are most likely the definition of overkill. They are primarily reserved for artillery units that perform bombardments due to their destructive power and large area of effect. When used aboard the Type 35 however, they are a heavy demolition round capable of leveling a small apartment complex if not used with care - though the very outer edges of the round's ability to harm vehicles and power armors extends to roughly ten meters in radius out from the center of the blast, the same does not apply for everything else that is lesser in terms of durability. As a result, these are usually given to tanks that are acting as makeshift artillery, specialized demolition/anti-fortification units or elite combat groups which are allotted them for more standard use.
