-Today Galactic (TG), known as Kyo no Ginga in Yamataigo  is a mayor news broadcast show, produced by corp:yukosfilm, which covers news from across the galaxy about politics, culture, entertainment and science. The broadcasts are mostly aimed towards viewers from Yamatai, although covering news from other nations as well. Today Galactic has two separate specialized news shows, with Today Galactic Youth for children in the range of 8-14, and Today Galactic Sports, which covers news from sports entertainment. These shows both have their own separate crews.
-
-===== History =====
-The first broadcast of the show was aired in early timeline:ye_15, however it was then called Galaxy Weekly, and only aired on each sunday, while it was also at that time produced by corp:universal_cinematics. The show featured no newscaster, although it featured two reporters, Hatima Kole, who covered domestic news, and foreign expert Takagi Ietsibu. In timeline:ye_18, with the bankruptcy of Universal, Yukosfilm bought the show from the company, and in early timeline:ye_19, Kole became the first newscaster of a daily version that became Galactic Today, which roughly followed the early format of national news. In timeline:ye_22, the first female reporter followed, in the form of Asari Kaomo. The second crew moved in at timeline:ye_23, but resigned after one year. The third crew lasted longer, until timeline:ye_29. In timeline:ye_25, the show gained critical acclaim for its coverage of the destruction of Geshrinopolis. Since timeline:ye_27, the show employs a team of seven experts, with four specialists in a specific nation, and an specific reporter on Yamatai politics, culture and sports, respectively.
-
-Since timeline:ye_21, the show is broadcast each evening at eight o'clock on YEEC 1, which is the most important news coverage program for a lot of faction:yamatai:yamataians. Condensed versions are also available daily on the faction:yamatai:yinn, while Youth airs at six, and Sports at seven. It mostly lasts for a half hour, in which the most important topics of the day are highlighted longer and more intense than in regular news coverage throughout the day. Aside from that, the show sometimes broadcasts extra shows, often with breaking news bulletins.
-
-During the week-ends, the broadcasts are often shorter, however, each Saturday a weekly overview is added that covers the most important news of each day. Since timeline:ye_29, the show also features separate weather forecasts for planet:yamatai, system:anisa, system:gashmere and system:tatiana. In timeline:ye_29, it also celebrated its ten year anniversary with an extra broadcast featuring old newscasters and reporters. The same was done in timeline:ye_39 for its twenty year anniversary.
-
-===== Design =====
-The design of the broadcast has differed over the years, and has been altered a couple of times. The first outlook in timeline:ye_19 featured a simple design, featuring simply a desk with the newscaster, a plasma screen with the news topics, and the crew dressing in suits and dresses.
-
-The first mayor alteration came in timeline:ye_24, when the studio was expanded to allow for the inclusion of table guests, as well as live connection to reporters on location. Aside from that, the logo was altered to feature a star backdrop, with the show name in front. Each bulletin, or leader, was accompanied by a diverse sound effect. Most top news featured a wp>Gong sound, while culture news featured a wp>flute solo, and sports a wp>Football kicking.
-
-In timeline:ye_27, with the new studios, the table-desk was abandoned, with the newscaster now standing up. The bulletin also became longer, with more time for introduction, with also the inclusion of foreign experts and interviews with experts on location, rather than in the studios. Four special foreign experts were also standardized, with each serving in the four main nations of the Kikyo Sector. The show also introduced a small middle block, with smaller and more local news, that would run between bulletins. In timeline:ye_36, the presenters where shown not only standing, but also walking between screens that showed pictures of the bulletins. In timeline:ye_39, when the Lorath abandoned their original space, the reporter resigned and the reporting stopped.
-
-===== Crew =====
-Since timeline:ye_19, the show has had a standard crew in operation, most of whom surround the current newscaster. Producers and writers may differ between crews, however the show has been directed by notable director Gushi Narobe since timeline:ye_19, and produced by Eric Carlson since timeline:ye_20. Crews may resign at each point, and so it is not uncommon for a reporter to work with multiple newscasters, and vice versa. Below are the crew of the show, sorted by that period's newscaster.

-===== Public Interest =====
-Since the earliest broadcast of the show, the program was positively reviewed by civilians in Yamatai and even beyond. The program is regarded mostly for its honest and unbiased view of international news, as well as exceptional interviews with persons who are rarely interviewed, such as the faction:yamatai:emperor_and_empress and the Imperial Premier, as well as foreign leaders such as character:xiaah_harr_ikke_destiny_tur_lista. They also received praise for their prime coverage of armed conflict throughout Yamatai history. They are one of the few allowed by the stararmy:start to film on secure fields, such as war-zones or near military bases.
