-The following is a radio-friendly, standardized method for requesting fire support missions that has been adopted for use throughout the military services of the [[faction:democratic_imperium_of_nepleslia]]. It is written so that the basic Marine infantryman can be made capable of communicating a request for supporting assets to engage a target in a clear, concise, and expedient manor regardless of circumstances they might find themselves in. It is valid for use with orbital, air, and assorted conventional BVR((**Beyond Visual Range:** This is any combat which occurs at significant distance, well-beyond the range of visual acquisition by more conventional forces. It is most commonly something used in relation to artillery, air, and starship combat where weapons and non-visual sensors allow crew to accurately engage targets at distances of approximately 40km or greater.)) assets.

-Control Types are decided in line 3 of the AACF. If following the exact format as displayed, then the Control Type is the first thing which is passed on with line 3. This is done to immediately let the supporting asset being contacted know what sort of mission they can be expecting to follow in the next lines, prepping whatever ordnance or munitions they feel might be appropriate, and otherwise prepare themselves for the coming mission. For instance: a ship in orbit might orient itself to bring certain weapon batteries to bare on potential targets, or the pilot of a fighter-bomber might disarm the safety toggles on weapons capable of the types of attack likely to be requested.

Use of this control type may be dictated by the requirements of the mission, assessment of the situation by the ground team, or orders from higher command. Type 3 Control is best used when the ground team is unable to account for every single strike or mission needed, or in a situation where doing so would compromise the focus and energies of the ground team and supporting assets. Instead of giving specific details against a single target, the ground team would give various guidelines for strikes.

-  * A good example of Type 3 Control would be a Marine requesting a general overwatch by an overhead fighter squadron against potential enemy armored assets. Rather than calling in for a specific number of units, or contacting the squadron for every individual fire mission the Marine would instead provide a series of guidelines. This might be something such as requesting that the squadron engage and destroy any enemy armor that crosses beyond a certain landmark, or engaging enemy infantry who begin to move within a certain distance of friendly forces. The types of munitions used and the number of aircraft or other assets employed is generally left to the discretion of the supporting personnel.

This also includes replacing the 'target information' of line 3 with the requesting unit's location if possible. Upon relaying that a request for Type 4 Control, a series of events is put into play throughout the chain of command.

It is declaring over a secure network that the ground team's position has proven untenable and that they are incapable of breaking out from possible encirclement or capture.
