Star Army signal wire, nicknamed “Peas and Carrots,” is insulated paired cables. For camouflage purposes, the plastic covering is composed of olive drab (tip line/ground) and a burnt orange (ring line). It is used as telephone line or as electrical cable. The wire is available on a variety of reels and “donuts.” The two bonded cables can be pulled apart if needed and are easily stripped.
There is also a higher-quality version that comes in bright green and red (“strawberry kiwi”), used for wiring starships and vehicles.
