Ke-P3 Series Defense Towers

The Ke-P3 Shi-rudo (Shield) defense towers are for the protection of critical planetary installations; they became available in YE 31.

About the Ke-P3 Series

The Ke-P3 Shi-rudo defense towers were developed as a result of the dramatic losses the Yamatai Star Empire experienced during the opening days of the Second Mishhuvurthyar War. It is an expandable defense system that combines passive and active defensive systems. The towers were designed to provide protection from orbital bombardment, and from planetary forces.

History

After the swift and devastating losses the Empire suffered, Star Army of Yamatai and Ketsurui Fleet Yards started exploring ways to improve the defenses of planet-side resources. The design was intended to provide protection in the event that the system defenses failed, or were not present.

Appearance

The Shi-rudo towers are tall gray towers, with a series of radiator fins on side facing the location to be protected, and shield emitters on the forward side, and the top.

Ke-P3-1a Shield Tower

This is the most common tower, its sole function is producing shields. They must be located no further than 3km from the control tower.

Ke-P3-2a Armed Tower

The Armed Tower includes an array of weapons to protect the facility from missiles, fighters, and armor. They must be located no further than 3km from the control tower.

Weapons

Ke-P3-3a Control Tower

This tower is the central point for the dome shield. It adds to the strength of dome shield, and controls all the other towers as well. If it is not taller than the largest structure, it is typically mounted on a base to provide the proper elevation.

Inside the Ke-P3 Towers

The Ke-P3 Shi-rudo do not use traditional decks. It is divided into four sections of 25 meters. A network of catwalks and ladders and lifts allow technicians to service and maintain them.

Ke-P3 Towers Systems

Structure

The Ke-P3 series are built on a Durandium Alloy framework and covered in a .25 meter thick Yamataium outer surface.

Aether Generators

The Ke-P3 use a pair of Aether generators to supply power to the two shield generator systems.

Parabolic Shield Emitter

This is the stronger of the shield emitter designed to project a parabolic shield towards the other towers. This dome shield is specifically designed to protect from starship weapons. It gets its strength by overlapping the shields into a stronger configuration.

Lateral Shield Emitter

These shields protect the site from attacks from on the planet. They are designed to deal with Armor and Mecha scale weapons. The shields link to the towers on either side of them for anchors, and the entire system can channel power around the perimeter.

Heat Sinks

Each Ke-P3 has a row of radiator heat sinks to help dissipate waste heat during shield operation. They are located on the side opposite the laterial emitters.

Control

Each tower is controlled by a pair of Isolated Computer Pads linked into a fiber optic network that links the towers to the command center.
