Niufofi'a Norjopa (Atmosphere Systems)

The Atmosphere on Poku Saeruo Degonjo ships is maintained by a series of systems. First all air goes through a Microfilter to remove particulate matter from the air. The cleaned air then is scrubbed by being passed through either chemical or chlorophyll filters.

Filtration

Chemical Filters

Chemical Air scrubbers are typically the primary system in clan small craft, and used as emergency systems on other ships. They work by passing air through a chemical process that removes the CO2. O2 is added to the atmosphere from storage.

Chlorophyll Filters

Air is passed through a series of panels that are covered in a membrane of air permeable material filled with Chlorophyll. For maximum efficiency each filter has dozens of layers of this membrane. The Chlorophyll in the panels consume Carbon Dioxide and release Oxygen. The panels when in scrubbing mode are bathed in light, to power photosynthesis which makes the change. To recharge the panels, the lights are turned off periodically allowing the Chlorophyll cells to consume oxygen and grow.

The Chlorophyll Filter panels are inspected periodically by the Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect). The Poku'vonai prefer the Chlorophyll Filter system because it produces air that has a pleasant subtle scent like standing in a forest.

Stored Gasses

In addition to filtering the air, each of the Niufofi'a Norjopa also have reservoirs of atmospheric gasses, which are used to help maintain pressure, and act as an emergency reserve. These can be small tanks or large high volume ones.
