Following the same principles as the original Tri-Layer Armor system, this improved version includes materials found by the knowledge provided by CSEIA. But unlike the original design, Escort/Strike Craft Armor is made only of small space vessels and strike craft, not planetary vehicles.
The outer most layer is forged from Durandium, a light-weight metal brought to the Abwehrans by the CSEIA scientists. This is combined with the second layer of the usual tungsten-ceramic composite, which is still used for its efficient defense versus heat-based weaponry, and a final layer of the new Durandium.
