About the Holographic Camera

The Holographic camera is capable to taking 2D and 3D images for playback in appropriate devices. It has a set of three cameras that it uses to capture the data. It has two retracting lamps for recording in low light. A small display is mounted on the handle that can swivel up.

Appearance

The Holographic camera has three lenses in the front. This allows the camera to capture the image in three dimensions because of the binocular capability. On the top of the unit are two lamps that pop up for low light situations. The lamps can be disabled if the operator wishes to record in low light. There is a button on the handle which starts or stops the camera. On the side there is a number of controls to select mode, etc. The top of the camera has a display that the operator can use to ensure the target is framed properly. By default it lies flat, but the operator can flip it up vertically.

History

The Holographic Camera was developed to provide a means of chronicling the activities of the Service. Surveys, exploration, ceremonies were just some of the intended uses, although they can also be used to record simpler events.
