The Neshaten Combat Information Center serves as a secondary command center for warships and ground bases. Its sole purpose is to operate all of its host platform's weapons, with the exception of forward-firing ones. It was entered into service in EE004 (YE 40).
The Combat Information Center was conceived out of necessity, as prior to its creation ship captains would merely convert their backup command centers into one. This ended, however, when the Shukara Volunteer Navy realized that a more dedicated room would serve a better purpose as opposed to something that wasn't originally designed for such a thing.
This type of room grants the crew of a warship or base the ability to decide what targets weapons hit while monitoring those weapons for any signs of problems. This also means that in an emergency the Combat Information Center can also take over operation of weapons via manually firing them at targets. This type of room works in tandem with one or more Fire Control Complexes.
As the Combat Information Center is typically commanded by a warship's or base's Lexicon, it is designed to be placed under the command center, with easy access to the bridge and vice-versa; if the Lexicon is an aviator or some other position that is not located on the bridge, however, then the Combat Information Center is placed under the command of the highest ranking combat aviator.
Individual gunnery stations are always manned by aviators or marines.
The Combat Information Center is a large, rectangular room with the command and control officer sitting in the center and gunnery stations located to their left and right. There are individual gunnery stations for turrets; the number of gunnery stations - and the actual size of the control room itself - are based purely on the number of individual turrets that the warship (or base) has.
