This device allows a Poku'vonai to safely establish a direct connection to their data networks. They are common on board Poku Saeruo Degonjo vessels, and by Poku'vonai whose occupations require them to handle large volumes of data or need precise control.
The Iginâ Yoqa (Neural Link) consists of two pieces, the main being the actual Iginâ Yoqa implant. It is installed by surgery, and has a dataport flush with the skin.
The Device is implanted in the back of the neck and connected to specific nerve clusters at the base of the skull. After the surgery the individual then undergoes a training regimen to learn to use it.
A neural tap is attached to the connector embedded in the skin, and then to the data source. There are two kinds of taps: cable tap and integrated.
The cable type has a 2 meter long data retractable cable that connects the user to the data source. This allows the user to move around within the limits of the cable length.
The integrated type is a fixed connection that is part of a device. Pilot helmets and some station chairs have an Integrated Neural Tap. In these instances the user is directly connected to the tap and can not move away from it without breaking the connection.
