In AF 260 (YE 31), the Abwehran Military began to drastically reorganize their military structure and equipment in an effort to streamline its expansion. One idea to come from this was the Micro Missile Cluster. A rectangular box structure with six-tubes and an attached magazine, the Cluster was built specifically for strike craft for anti-fighter and anti-powered armor using Unidirectional Gravity Plating to cold launch. However, as planning reached its peak, designers saw its potential as an anti-missile platform as well. Because of this, the Micro Missile Cluster has been designed into two forms: an Strike Craft form and a Warship form.
A Strike Craft Micro Missile Cluster is a single box with its own magazine built into it. Its design is to allow a quick unload and reload of the entire module so fighters can be rearmed quickly and efficiently. Because of this, ammunition is limited to what is in the module. If module is damaged, then the micro missiles in the magazine have the probability of exploding within and destroying the strike craft.
Primary Role: Anti-Fighter Secondary Role: Anti-Powered Armor Average Powered Missile Envelope: 1 Light Second (299,792 kilometers) Initial Launch Velocity: 0.1 c1), 50 km/h2) Rate of Fire: Six Missiles per fifteen seconds Payload of Magazine: 4 reloads (24 Micro Missiles)
While the Warship model is similar to its strike craft model in the fact that is a box launcher of six tubes, it relies on the warship's magazine rather than an attached one. It is also built directly into the ship so it is less likely to get damaged by enemy fire. It's primary role is more for Anti-Missile and Anti-Powered Armor operations than Anti-fighter.
Primary Role: Anti-Missile Secondary Role: Anti-Powered Armor Average Powered Missile Envelope: 20 Light Seconds (5,995,849 kilometers) Initial Launch Velocity: 0.1 c3), 50 km/h4) Rate of Fire: Six Missiles per fifteen seconds
