Based upon the basics of electronics, the standard trigger system in Abwehran hand-held weapons follows a complete-the-circuit design. With the trigger in the resting position, the circuit is in an open position. This means the connection between the weapon's battery and the electromagnetic rails, or other weapons system, is incomplete an unpowered. However, once the trigger is depressed, the metal strip in the triggers back is pressed up against the two open circuits in the grip. This completes the circuit and allows power from the battery to magnetize the rails and propel the round out of the weapons barrel.
This simple system allows anyone with a basic knowledge of electronics to repair and maintain the weapon. It also means less maintenance is needed since there are very few moving parts.
