Replacing some of the more traditional Arc Welders used by the military in AF 260 (YE 32), the Hand Laser Welder is able to do the same spot and seam welds as its predecessor.
While the hand laser welder looks like a fire arm, it doesn't have any range to it at all. The reasoning for the design is based upon the principles of laser welding. The two prongs carry a pair of laser emitters with angle to a central point when necessary to create a seam weld. But for spot welding, a central laser emitter located in between the two prongs is used. The Hand Laser Welder runs on a single large Nuclear Battery, which is placed in a forearm container. Power is then run by wire to charge the laser components in the Welder. This works a lot like the Laser Scalpel Pen.
