Spartan, unpainted corridors are the preferred way of designing passageways on Abwehran military vessels. There are various locations (mostly close to strategic compartments) where First Aid Stations, Abwehran Fire Suppression Lockers, and Weapons Lockers can be found. There are also areas where air-tight hatches, using the old 'spin-wheel' seals, are located in order to compartmentalize damage or keep areas of the ship pressurized. These hatches automatically close when a hull breach has been identified.
Fiber-optic wiring and power cables are visible, yet separated in order to keep electromagnetic interference from occurring. Power cabling are run along the interior-ward side of corridors near the deck. Control runs, sound-lines for Sound-Powered Telephones, and data fiber-optics are run along the exterior-ward side of corridor closer to the ceiling. This enables quick repair and maintenance to cabling as necessary. These bundles are covered in protective cages that maybe removed in order to enable access to the bundles for maintenance and repair.
