Focused around a squadron of three Carriers, a Carrier Group's primary mission is the defense of their assigned solar system. The Carrier Core of the Group is escorted by a Squadron of Escort Carriers, a couple of Cruiser Squadrons, and three Escort Squadrons, but an additional two Customs Squadrons are added to police merchant traffic. A Carrier Group can be divided into three Task Forces1), which are spread out to provide maximum cover. Every Carrier Group has a Vizeadmiral in command.
