Founded in AF 130 after breaking away from the Abwehran Progressive Party, the Constitutional party was originally comprised of the more conservative members of the Abwehran Progressive Party at the time.

During the period that was 120s After Freedom, the Reformation of Abwehran Society was in full swing. The Abwehran Progressive Party was the dominant force in Parliament in comparison to the Abwehran Conservative Party. However, during this time, changes were happening rapidly. In fact, some changes were happening just for the sake of change, which was draining the treasury quite quickly. More conservative members of Abwehran Progressive Party were outraged by the blatant squandering of credits. To make matters worse, there were some in both the Abwehran Progressive Party and the Abwehran Conservative Party who were actually ignoring the very constitution their Mothers and Fathers had formed over a hundred Abwehran Years before. Instead of defecting over to the Abwehran Conservative Party, these individuals began to form their own power base.
It would take years of campaigning and painting themselves as champions of the Imperial Constitution of the Abwehran Star Empire, but they were eventually able to gain some measure of influence within Parliament to challenge the wasteful spending policies.
Today, the Constitutional Party is still a champion of the Imperial Constitution of the Abwehran Star Empire. However, their interpretation of it is now much stricter. Often, the Constitutional Party is seen as fanatically driven or even as “zealots of the holy piece of paper”.
The Constitutional Party, while seen as extremeists when it comes to how strictly they adhere to the Constitution, are actually quite moderate in their platform in comparison to the liberal Abwehran Progressive Party that wants quick changes and the indomitable Abwehran Conservative Party that try to hinder change whenever possible.
