S6-SCPR

The S6-SCPR is a self-contained plasma round designed and used by Section 6 in the BW-MWS2 "Harbinger". It became available in YE 40.

The shell itself is fairly simple, as it consists of high-energy tritium plasma generated by the electromagnetic forces in the barrel and receiver of the weapon; once fired, the plasma is held in place by the powerful magnetic field of the neodymium shell surrounding it - that is, until it hits the target and releases a burst of superheated ionized gas similar to a shaped charge.

The resultant flash of light is often described as looking like someone just got splashed with glowing blue slime, due to the static cohesion of the plasma. It is known to burn through body armor and flesh, then continue burning, rapidly reacting with and destroying most carbon bonds.

Note: The EM50 cartridge does not fire a traditional bullet when fired; instead, the cartridge causes the plasma to eject from the barrel in a spherical blob traveling at a high velocity and orbiting a solid mass of powdered neodymium.

The following is a list of statistics for the Self-Contained Plasma Round.

Damage Description: The round detonates on impact with a burst of plasma as the casing strikes the target; the 50EM, however, sends a cohesive concentrated bolt of plasma at the target.
Muzzle Blast: A burst of escaping gases from the muzzle created by the ignited gunpowder; for the 50EM cartridge, however, the muzzle blast is a bright - yet brief - flash as the plasma leaves the barrel.
Recoil: Ranges from negligible with pistol calibers to heavy with large caliber rounds; the 50EM cartridge, however, only causes moderate recoil.
