Like reactive armor it is effective against a wide variety of weapons, it can react to incoming projectiles, it can quickly be replaced, and it can be fitted to just about any surface. Like conventional armor it can withstand multiple hits, is effective at reducing bleed through of kinetic force, and it can be modified to have a wide range of additional applications.  Unlike reactive armor, aggressive armor does not require blocks to be placed on the entire hull.  Application to a starship is done through attaching the aggressive armor unit to the hull of a ship. The unit itself is a hemispherical bulge that contains a power generator and electrical control system. The unit also comes packaged with control software designed to allow a ship’s computer to wirelessly interface with the system and control the shape of the plasma cloud as well as a considerable amount of liquid metal. In ‘off’ mode the liquid metal naturally flows toward the main unit, forming a thick shell around it. In on mode the generator activates, generating massive amounts of heat that convert the liquid metal into plasma.
