 Due to the heat involved, the Plasma Cutter was created with a Titanium alloy as well as [[materials:aegium|Aegium]] to allow it to resist the heat on itself so that the Miners, whether they were using the detached version, or having it attached, would not get burned by the heat. It was Nyx who had come up with the idea to have it be detachable, so that it could be used as a weapon, for defense, as well as a means to aid in mining when not able to use the power armor.
